About Me

If you need answers, I’ve got questions.

Questions that I hope you will find evocative and clarifying. Collaborating with you so that you can harness the capacities that exist within you is both my pleasure and my privilege. I believe we each bring something valuable to the table that will help you to become the brightest version of yourself. When combined, our efforts can call forth the very best that is in you, qualities that have yet to be expressed and dreams that are waiting to see the light of day.

There’s what I bring – thought provoking questions, insights and techniques designed to stir the potential that lives within you and all that you bring – your history, truths and desires that, uncapped, become the fuel that takes you where you want to go. With the lift of your own released energy, I will help you steer a course toward the success you desire. I’ll help you work through your limiting beliefs so you can get out of your own way. Limiting beliefs are mindsets we live by that do not originate from our conscious mind. In fact, often our conscious mind doesn’t see them at all. They shape everything we do … and don’t do.

Whether you need to clear away the old, weighty baggage that is bogging you down, release self-sabotaging patterns or get clearer on your purpose, your true voice and inner confidence are waiting for you once you do. As you grow deeper in this inner confidence, you will notice an increase in your emotional muscle. From there, you will begin to get unstuck, grow to trust yourself more, and enjoy taking charge of your life’s destiny. Seeing you move beyond previous limitations to deepen your sense of purpose is what energizes me and deepens mine. Your success is truly my success.

If you are ready to stop hiding your light, if you are tired of living in the eclipsing shadows of self-doubt and fear, I think you will be pleased with what I can offer you through my Clinical Coaching Modules, VIP Weekend Intensives, Workshops, On-line Courses and more.

One of the key details that I’d like you to know about me is that I am not a distant, passive listener. I much prefer to be engaged with you, to have a meaningful back and forth about your challenges and your opportunities. My clients regularly remark that they feel my interest, empathy and, I’m told, humor as we work together to achieve a shared sense of clarity, satisfaction and value. I’ve often said that I feel like a spin instructor, since I’m working out along with my clients rather than merely guiding from the sidelines. Yes, we are in this process together. Partners. Equals. Allies.

“Cathy’s relaxed approach to therapy has made all the difference for my family and me. We converse, laugh & cry during our sessions often. We don’t just call Cathy when things are bad or desperate. We see her twice a year for a family tapping session. This allows us, as a family, to grow and understand each other. If you are struggling with issues in your life and feel like you were made for more, schedule an appointment with Cathy. She’ll help you discover the best version of yourself.”

-Vin R, NY Metro area

The core philosophy that informs my work, and in fact every aspect of my life, stems from the recognition that our heart, mind, body and spirit are not simply elements that make us human but are interconnected parts which define our wholeness. I believe deeply that each of us has at our core an Intelligence that, once realized, becomes the guiding force for a life that is uplifted and uplifting. I see my role as helping to remove barriers that obscure this innate wisdom; I know that I do not provide the wisdom. When impediments to our light are removed, all kinds of interesting things begin to happen. Tangible changes occur. Moods brighten. Goals are achieved. Unworkable relationships dissolve and healthier ones appear. We become more interesting and multi-dimensional. Life is more enjoyable and rewarding.

“Cathy is a gifted therapist. She has the innate ability to listen to your problems and get quickly to the source of your pain. I came to her with what I thought was a giant problem and within one session left feeling like there was no issue. Cathy is also a wonderful teacher and can help you learn tools you can use at home to have a lasting benefit to your newfound awareness. I can’t recommend her enough!”

Credentials

Before becoming an EFT practitioner, I earned a Master of Social Work degree and received extensive, post-graduate training as a Clinical Psychotherapist in the area of accelerated psychotherapy. I went on to join the faculty of The Institute for Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy in NY and NJ where some of my clinical work was video recorded and presented at professional conferences. They were also used as training models for other mental health professionals seeking to accelerate their progress.

A few of the incredible people I’ve met who support causes that are important to me.

Edie Windsor, NYC

Met her shortly after her Supreme Court victory in the landmark civil rights case, United States vs Windsor. Windsor won. The ruling gave same-sex couples marital protection under the law for the first time in history.

Ms. Windsor was a pistol, a lady, a force to be reckoned with. So many owe her so much. I know I do.

Cyndi Lauper, NYC

A quick backstage hello at a concert to benefit LGBTQ homeless youth. She was fierce. And funny.

Jane Lynch, NYC

Coffee and a conversation about the importance of supporting political candidates whose priorities are women’s equality and LGBTQ rights. She was tall, very tall but more than gleeful, it was her stature as an activist that loomed large and powerful.

Marianne Williamson, Montclair, NJ

Presidential candidate, author and activist, Marianne Williamson, Montclair, NJ

It was my honor to host a fundraising event for Ms. Williamson.  Introducing this special woman and having the opportunity to hear her stirring vision for America up close was a highlight that I, and many in attendance that night, won’t soon forget.

Dave Navarro, NYC

Singer, songwriter, guitarist, actor. I met him at the dynamic fundraising event he hosted for Presidential candidate, Marianne Williamson. He was gracious, kind and had the kind of presence that stays with you.

Katie Couric, NYC

Journalist, author, and fierce advocate of colon cancer prevention.
